OBJECTIVE
To assist Cornerstone Church in fulfilling its mission of guiding individuals to know Jesus and share His message by overseeing the Communications department and collaborating with peer support teams across the organization and its various ministries.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Core Functions:
Main Objective:
Support the mission of Cornerstone Church in promoting knowledge of Jesus and His teachings.
Collaboration:
Partner with worship, video, and technical arts leaders, along with other ministries, to enhance the Sunday Worship experience and support various ministries throughout the week.
Project Management:
Oversee departmental initiatives, adjusting project scope and scale to ensure realistic goals are met while maintaining project integrity. Facilitate engagement with internal and external audiences through impactful communications and marketing materials. Ensure effective interaction between the church and its ministries with the Communications Department through clear workflows and defined roles.
Cultural Development:
Create a collaborative and productive atmosphere for staff, interns, and volunteers, fostering creativity and encouraging open dialogue without fear of failure.
Brand Management:
Under the guidance of leadership, maintain and develop the Cornerstone brand, ensuring consistency across all communication mediums, both print and digital. Assist employees and volunteers in their integration into the Cornerstone community and strengthen relationships with local and global partners through community initiatives and events.
Leadership Responsibilities:
Supervise daily operations of the Graphic Designer, Web Specialist, and volunteers. Manage project timelines in a fast-paced environment while balancing diverse tasks. Train and engage volunteers and ministry leaders on audience engagement through various tools and platforms.
Technical Responsibilities:
Maintain an active project load alongside leadership duties, including:
- Developing and implementing marketing strategies for both physical and digital platforms.
- Crafting content for various formats such as scripts, newsletters, and social media.
- Designing graphics and editing photos.
- Conducting surveys, data analysis, and reporting.
- Managing digital platforms including websites, applications, and social media.
- Proficiency in project management software and Adobe Creative Suite, as well as Microsoft Office applications.
- Staying updated on current video trends and understanding copyright and trademark regulations.
- Training volunteers and ministry leaders on effective content creation for audience engagement.
TEAM PARTICIPATION:
Engage in weekly staff meetings, worship service reviews, and collaborative meetings with various ministry teams.
BUDGET MANAGEMENT:
Prepare and oversee the annual budget for the Communications department, monitoring expenditures throughout the year.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- A personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
- A passion for the local church and a commitment to using communications to reach others.
- Strong organizational skills and creativity in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite.
- A proactive and energetic approach to work, with a commitment to professional development and industry best practices.
