PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to manage the mental and emotional demands of the role is essential.
  • Must possess adequate sight and hearing, or utilize prosthetics to meet the requirements of the position.
  • Independence, flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to collaborate effectively with residents and staff are crucial.
  • Good overall health and emotional stability are required.
  • Must be able to interact with individuals who may be ill, disabled, or emotionally distressed.
  • May need to lift, push, pull, and transport items weighing over fifty (50) pounds throughout the day.
  • Ability to taste and smell food to assess quality and appeal is necessary.
  • Exposure to infectious materials and health risks is a possibility.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Adheres to established departmental policies and governmental regulations.
  • Reviews menu extensions prior to food preparation.
  • Proposes menu modifications to assist in the development of meal plans.
  • Prepares meals according to planned menus, including therapeutic options.
  • Ensures meals are visually appealing and palatable.
  • Serves food following established portion control guidelines.
  • Prepares food according to standardized recipes.
  • Verifies accuracy of resident meal trays.
  • Utilizes and instructs on proper food handling practices.
  • Completes daily and scheduled cleaning tasks.
  • Properly dates, labels, and stores food items.
  • Assists in the receipt and storage of incoming food and supplies.
  • Makes necessary menu substitutions and documents them appropriately.
  • Meets scheduled timelines for meals and snacks.
  • Reports all incidents and accidents to the supervisor promptly.
  • Informs the supervisor of any hazardous conditions immediately.
  • Recommends equipment and supply needs to the supervisor.
  • Participates in staff meetings and training sessions as scheduled.
  • Supervises the Dietary Department in the absence of the supervisor.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.
