Salary

This is a salary position with a range of $65,000 to $80,000 per year, depending on experience.

Job Type

Full-time, 7:00am - 5:00pm MST, Monday to Friday, with overtime as needed.

Job Summary

An Estimator is responsible for preparing detailed estimates based on architectural drawings and specifications for high-end commercial projects. The ideal candidate will have experience in millwork estimating, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assign fabrication, finish, and installation time to each piece of millwork without pre-determined formulas or times
  • Bid projects ranging from $2,000 to $3M+
  • Review project invitations and gather information to complete proposals
  • Communicate with customers to understand project requirements and goals
  • Understand market trends and create winning, profitable proposals
  • Collaborate with the Sales and Marketing Team to pursue and earn projects
  • Set up projects for a detailed and successful hand-off to Project Management and Engineering
  • Have an understanding of standard building construction methods, including AWI guidelines, LEEDS, and FSC requirements
  • Handle multiple tasks in a deadline-oriented environment

Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in millwork estimating
  • Ability to create a takeoff from scratch and price without pre-existing formulas
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • Ability to read architectural blueprints and shop drawings
  • Strong understanding of millwork construction methods and continuous education
  • Experience using Blue Beam preferred
