Job Title: Mechanical Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team at MetaOption, LLC. As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing fully integrated mechanical assembly systems to meet process requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop mechanical systems, including system design, structural calculations, acceleration forces, load calculations, material stress design, and system installation.
  • Develop and implement system configuration and design documents, including theory/description of operation, detailed mechanical system design description, system implementation/acceptance test plans, and system routine maintenance/job plans.
  • Design and develop drawings of mechanical design, assemblies, and installation procedures using AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks software.
  • Ability to design and troubleshoot pneumatic and hydraulic control systems.
  • Ability to perform system analysis/calculations, including stress, fatigue, reliability, life expectancy, and tolerance studies.
  • Knowledge of ride system design requirements for attractions involving guest accelerations, reach envelope, ingress/egress, weight, and emergency evacuation analysis and implementation upon control system failure in worst-case scenarios.
  • Assist with the initial start-up and debugging of integrated systems and the development of system documentation.
  • Act as technical lead on projects and guide lower-level engineers, technicians, and contractors.
  • Act as Project Manager on smaller projects, including developing and executing implementation plans, assigning work to meet overall project deadlines, and ensuring that all project team members clearly understand the scope of W-M responsibilities.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in mechanical engineering, including system design, structural calculations, acceleration forces, load calculations, material stress design, and system installation.
  • Experience with AutoCAD and SolidWorks software.
  • Knowledge of amusement ride safety standards (ASTM Standards).
  • Ability to collect field data and accurately record findings.
  • Ability to perform system design functions.
  • Planning, customer-focused, timely decision-making, informing, organizing, priority-setting, problem-solving.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Windows and Office environments.
Working Environment:

Standard office environment, on-site office environment, and diverse industrial environments. Frequent PC usage, fax machines, copy machines, and phones.

Ability to travel up to 35%.

Physical demands of the position include seeing, color perception, hearing, listening, clear speech, dexterity in hands, driving, lifting, climbing, ability to mount and dismount equipment, pushing, and pulling.
