Position Overview:

Plote Construction Inc. is actively seeking a Nighttime Heavy Truck Technician to enhance our operations. The Nighttime Heavy Truck Technician will be tasked with evaluating equipment and planning necessary repairs. This role involves working on heavy-duty trucks, both in the workshop and on-site, and requires checking manuals, schematics, and diagrams for repairs when needed.

Work Schedule:

This is a full-time position with a second shift, operating from 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM, with potential overtime based on business requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct technical repairs and maintenance on heavy-duty trucks.
  • Assist in diagnosing and completing maintenance and repairs of fleet vehicles and equipment, addressing equipment failures, and resolving damage issues.
  • Ensure timely completion of repairs with minimal supervision.
  • Utilize common and precision checking equipment as well as portable power tools.
  • Work with hydraulic equipment.
  • Provide accurate diagnostics of maintenance issues and execute necessary repairs.
  • Understand and apply company safety protocols, including DOT, EPA, ICC, and OSHA regulations.
  • Respond to road service calls for truck breakdowns.
  • Perform oil changes and routine servicing of heavy trucks as required.
  • Handle special assignments and additional duties as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with construction equipment.
  • Possession of a valid Class A CDL and medical card.
  • Must provide personal tools.
  • Technical Associate's Degree or Program Certificate is preferred.
  • Experience as both a field and shop mechanic is essential.
  • Proficient in diagnosis and troubleshooting.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, in confined spaces, at elevated heights, and to lift up to 50 lbs.
