Key Responsibilities
  • Perform hematology tests and procedures, including manual platelet estimates and WBC differentials
  • Monitor and operate laboratory instrumentation, ensuring proper function and maintenance
  • Identify and replenish testing bench supplies, maintaining a safe and organized work environment
  • Collaborate with laboratory team members to ensure efficient and effective test processing
  • Develop and implement quality control procedures to ensure accurate test results
Requirements
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or related field
  • 1+ years of laboratory experience, preferably in hematology
  • Strong knowledge of laboratory information systems (LIS) and computer systems
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic laboratory setting
Preferred Qualifications
  • MLS or MLT certifications
  • Experience in veterinary hematology
  • Knowledge of RBC, WBC, and platelet cell lines
Physical and Time Requirements
  • Able to sit and stand for long periods of time
  • Able to lift up to 30lbs
  • Flexible hours and overtime may be required
