About the Role

AECOM is seeking a highly skilled Bridge Design Engineer II to join our team in Chicago, Illinois. As a key member of our regional bridge team, you will be responsible for designing and developing bridge projects that meet the highest standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare contract drawings, technical specifications, design calculations, and construction cost estimates for bridge projects.
  • Perform existing bridge inspections, condition assessments, and develop rehabilitation strategies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project deliverables meet client requirements and AECOM's quality standards.
Requirements
  • BA/BS + 2 YORE or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • Bachelor's degree in civil (Structural) engineering.
  • 5+ years of bridge design experience.
  • Master's degree a plus.
  • Experience with related project work with Illinois DOT / IL Tollway / City of Chicago.
  • SE license in IL or ability to obtain the same in the next 2 years.
  • PE license in IL or ability to obtain the same via reciprocity.
  • Knowledge of 3D finite element software such as CSiBridge, MIDAS, SAP2000, etc.
  • Railroad bridge design experience is a plus.
