Company Overview: Amergis Healthcare Staffing is in search of a dedicated Behavioral Support Specialist. This role is crucial in providing behavioral assistance within educational environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver personal care and behavioral support to designated student(s).
- Assist students with:
- Classroom engagement
- Personal grooming
- Meal preparation and eating
- Toileting needs
- Mobility and transfer assistance
- Manage challenging behaviors and crises effectively.
- Promote student independence and ensure safety.
- Implement individualized behavioral plans.
- Verify any changes in assignments as per client requests.
- Confirm weekly schedules with Amergis office personnel.
- Document care in accordance with Amergis policies.
- Complete communication notes or incident reports promptly when required.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Preferred: Associate's degree in behavioral studies or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Proficient in verbal and written English.
- Current Health Certificate (if applicable).
- Valid CPR certification.
- Current TB Skin test or Chest X-ray.
- Successful completion of the company’s testing process.
