Company Overview: Amergis Healthcare Staffing is in search of a dedicated Behavioral Support Specialist. This role is crucial in providing behavioral assistance within educational environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver personal care and behavioral support to designated student(s).
  • Assist students with:
    • Classroom engagement
    • Personal grooming
    • Meal preparation and eating
    • Toileting needs
    • Mobility and transfer assistance
  • Manage challenging behaviors and crises effectively.
  • Promote student independence and ensure safety.
  • Implement individualized behavioral plans.
  • Verify any changes in assignments as per client requests.
  • Confirm weekly schedules with Amergis office personnel.
  • Document care in accordance with Amergis policies.
  • Complete communication notes or incident reports promptly when required.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Preferred: Associate's degree in behavioral studies or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Proficient in verbal and written English.
  • Current Health Certificate (if applicable).
  • Valid CPR certification.
  • Current TB Skin test or Chest X-ray.
  • Successful completion of the company’s testing process.
