Job Summary

Demonstrates expertise in departmental financial clearance and showcases leadership skills to oversee a wide range of duties in support of departmental efficiencies. Responsibilities include arranging hospital services, analyzing admission discharge transfers, and driving team performance accountability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Greet customers with exceptional service, complete patient registration, and adhere to financial and cash control policies.
  • Provide patient financial counseling, education, and referrals, and employ compliant patient liability collection techniques.
  • Secure medical necessity checks, verify insurance, and complete assigned registration financial clearance work lists.
  • Lead shift Patient Access Operations and collaborate with department leaders to achieve process and operational excellence.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; 2-4 year college degree in business, accounting, or medical administration preferred.
  • 2-4 years of experience in medical facilities, health insurance, or related areas; 3-5 years of experience in Patient Access preferred.
  • Advanced customer service skills, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and proficiency in software and equipment.
  • Course in medical terminology required; advanced understanding of third-party payor requirements and compliance standards preferred.
Work Environment

Work in a hospital administration setting, potentially exposed to life-threatening patient conditions. Must be available to work hours and days as needed, with on-call scheduling support when required.
