Job Responsibilities

The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks, including building maintenance and construction, electrical work, HVAC maintenance, plumbing, and locksmithing. Key responsibilities include:
  • Performing Preventative Maintenance tasks to ensure proper operation of equipment and safety systems.
  • Conducting electrical maintenance, including fixture replacement or repair using appropriate tools.
  • Handling minor plumbing tasks, such as fixing leaks, unclogging drains, and installing fixtures.
  • Executing minor carpentry and masonry tasks, including hanging doors and fitting locks.
  • Reconfiguring and installing modular offices and space using various tools.
  • Cleaning and maintaining work areas, assisting with trash removal, event setup, and window washing.
  • Painting various structures and equipment to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Picking up supplies from local sourcing locations as needed.
  • Assisting with lawn care and other general maintenance activities.
  • Performing light HVAC maintenance, such as changing filters and cleaning coils.
  • Conducting snow removal using a plow truck, snow thrower, or shovel.
  • Performing ground maintenance tasks, including mowing, trimming, and fertilizing.
  • Handling other duties as assigned, with flexible hours and/or On-Call situations.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you'll need:
  • A high school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • A valid Michigan Driver License with a good driving record.
  • 5+ years' experience in trades, with specific training/experience in commercial and/or residential construction, electrical work, rough framing, plumbing, painting, HVAC, and locksmithing.
  • The ability to read and interpret documents, write routine reports, and speak effectively before groups.
  • The ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • The ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
