Pediatric Nurse Practitioner

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) plays a vital role in the healthcare team at Mt. Washington Pediatric Hospital, providing high-quality nursing care to patients and their families. As an accountable member of the team, the LPN will function within the scope of their licensure, working under the direction of a Registered Nurse to deliver exceptional patient care.
Essential Functions- Provide high-quality nursing care and function within the scope of licensure related to assigned duties.
- Function with other members of the healthcare team in promoting and maintaining health, preventing disease, and disability.
- Care for and rehabilitate individuals experiencing an altered health state, contributing to their ultimate quality of life.
- Comply with all approved hospital and nursing policies and procedures, participating in performance improvement activities.
- Function with a focus on customer service and patient safety, serving as an escort for patient transport as needed.
- Graduate of an NLN-approved School or Program for Practical Nursing.
- Current license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the State of Maryland and current CPR certification.
- Minimum of two years pediatric experience required, with specific experience in Pediatrics preferred.
- Team-oriented, with excellent interpersonal skills and knowledge of the Nurse Practice Act and ANA Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice and Performance.
The LPN will work in a fast-paced environment, regularly exposed to body fluids, infectious waste, or blood-borne diseases, requiring the use of personal protective equipment and adherence to established protocol. Occasional stress due to emergency situations or multiple demands may be experienced.
