POSITION SUMMARY:

Accountable for acquiring comprehensive knowledge of retail store operations under the mentorship of a Store Manager or District Manager. Develops proficiency in financial management processes essential for effective store administration.

Under the supervision of experienced leaders, aims to achieve full competency in managerial duties within a specified timeframe. Open to assuming Store Manager responsibilities within the local area when opportunities arise.


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Ensures an outstanding customer service experience across all interaction channels by adhering to GNC's established sales techniques; strives to meet or surpass corporate objectives and performance metrics.

Promotes GNC's customer loyalty initiatives and incentives to enhance customer engagement.

Analyzes sales trends, identifies popular products, and keeps the Store Manager informed about market demands.

Encourages community involvement and customer loyalty through innovative outreach strategies.

Reviews merchandising communications to stay informed about product offerings and responds to product inquiries using company-approved information.

Oversees and motivates the store team under the guidance of the Store Manager; communicates sales objectives and drives team performance; provides constructive feedback and supports the development of high-performing team members.

Engages with training materials and completes assigned learning modules to gain insights into product offerings and respond to inquiries based on company-approved information.

Safeguards company assets and ensures compliance with ethical standards.

Collaborates with the Store Manager to resolve escalated customer service issues; assists in monitoring loss prevention activities and raises concerns as necessary.

Maintains a clean and organized store environment.

Handles all register operations, including daily register functions and bank deposits in accordance with company policies.


LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

Acquires skills to:

  • Lead staffing and training efforts.
  • Manage employee schedules within budgetary constraints for optimal store coverage.
  • Recruit, train, and manage staff performance.
  • Implement visual merchandising standards in a timely manner, ensuring compliance with GNC's presentation guidelines.
  • Oversee inventory management according to GNC protocols, including receiving and shelving merchandise to enhance the customer experience.
  • Adhere to quality control measures for stock management, including product rotation and addressing maintenance issues.
  • Ensure compliance with all operational policies and execute omni-channel initiatives effectively.

Independently performs complex tasks, including team management, store operations, inventory oversight, merchandising, loss prevention, and sales training.

Additional responsibilities as assigned.


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible for overseeing a team of employees.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands or fingers for handling tasks, reach with arms, and communicate effectively. Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and depth perception. The work environment typically has a low to moderate noise level.


QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum of a high school diploma or an associate degree in business or a related field; or a combination of education and experience sufficient to perform key job responsibilities.

Preferred: 2+ years of retail sales experience and prior management or supervisory experience.

Proficient in MS Office Suite, Outlook, and internet applications.

Strong analytical, prioritization, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, budgeting, project management, and planning skills.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Able to build and maintain collaborative relationships with colleagues and clients.

Capable of working autonomously and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Self-motivated with a keen attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines.

Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations and interpret data.

Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Possession of a valid driver's license is required.
