Position Title: Registered Nurse II

Role Overview: The Registered Nurse II is responsible for delivering comprehensive health screening and assessment services. This includes initiating treatments and immunizations in accordance with established protocols, while also providing essential education and counseling to patients and healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Gathering medical histories and conducting thorough physical assessments.
  • Administering appropriate treatments and immunizations, as well as collecting laboratory specimens.
  • Providing extensive educational counseling to patients and collaborating with other healthcare professionals.
  • Serving as a mentor and preceptor for patients and external agencies.
  • Executing additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing.
  • A minimum of one (1) year of relevant experience as a Registered Nurse.
  • Proficiency in standard software applications.

Skills:

The candidate must possess the ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, and to establish and maintain productive working relationships with colleagues, departments, and the public.

Licensure:

Must hold a valid Registered Nurse license in the State of Texas and possess a valid Texas Driver's License with a clean driving record.

Additional Information:

Based on departmental needs, employees may be required to work overtime and weekends with prior notice from supervisors or department heads.

The role requires the ability to endure prolonged periods of standing, walking, and sitting, as well as the capacity to lift up to 25 lbs. unassisted. Travel to various work site locations may be necessary.

Work Environment:

This position may be situated within a secured facility, necessitating the ability to restrain and/or pursue youths, and being available on-call for unit emergencies.
