Job Title: Driver License Examiner Assistant

Job Summary:

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to serve as a Driver License Examiner Assistant. In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring the smooth operation of the Department of Transportation's driver license services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the application and knowledge testing processes for commercial and non-commercial driver's licenses in Pennsylvania.
  • Engage directly with clients to confirm applicant identity, complete application forms, and input data into online driver license application software.
  • Conduct standardized knowledge assessments to evaluate applicants' comprehension of the vehicle code, driving regulations, and related traffic control devices.
  • Aid in vision screenings for visual acuity using a tele-binocular device for all applicants.
  • Input applicant test outcomes and customer applications for driver license services into online software systems via a computer.
  • Ensure accurate use and documentation of fee waiver codes whenever necessary for processing customer transactions, in accordance with fee waiver guidelines.

Requirements:

  • One year of experience obtaining, evaluating, and providing information to the public.
  • Meet the PA residency requirement.
  • Ability to perform essential job functions.

Additional Information:

This position requires the selected candidate to undergo and pass a Fingerprint and Name-Based Criminal History Check prior to employment.
