Job Summary

As a Respiratory Therapist at Corewell Health, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality respiratory care to patients at Helen DeVos Children's Hospital. This is a part-time opportunity with a variable schedule, including nights and every other weekend.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate patients to determine their respiratory care needs and make recommendations for treatment.
  • Perform a wide range of procedures related to respiratory care, including point-of-care testing and advanced evaluation and management procedures.
  • Assess the effectiveness of treatment and accurately document patient information according to department and legal standards.
  • Facilitate smooth transitions for patients to referral services or home, providing education to patients and families as needed.
  • Instruct and train other respiratory care staff, nursing, and medical personnel on patient needs and respiratory care services.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree in Respiratory Therapy or equivalent clinical education.
  • 2 years of relevant experience in pulmonary rehabilitation, respiratory care, sleep medicine, or equivalent clinical education.
  • CRT-Respiratory Therapist Registry - NBRC National Board for Respiratory Care.
  • CRT-Hyperbaric Technologist, Certified (CHT) - NBDHMT National Board of Diving and Hyperbaric Medical Technology.
  • CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association or ARC American Red Cross.
  • CRT-Sedation - ANCC American Nurses Credentialing Center.
  • LIC-Respiratory Therapist - STATE_MI State of Michigan.
  • CRT-Adv Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - AHA American Heart Association.
