The Surgical Technologist plays a crucial role in the operating room, assisting with various surgical procedures. Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparation: Organizing and sterilizing surgical instruments and equipment necessary for procedures.
  • Patient Care: Assisting in preparing patients for surgery and monitoring their vital signs during operations.
  • Assistance: Supporting the surgical team by passing instruments and sterile supplies as needed.
  • Inventory Management: Conducting counts of surgical instruments and supplies before and after procedures to ensure nothing is left behind.
  • Environment Maintenance: Ensuring a sterile environment is maintained throughout the surgical process.
