Role: Clinical Educator - Perianesthesia Staff Development and Education Program Coordinator
This position offers a temporary to permanent opportunity with a schedule of 5x8 shifts, no weekends.
Key Responsibilities- Uphold the standards, mission, goals, and objectives of the Surgical Services department.
- Oversee the creation, coordination, and assessment of orientation programs for Surgical Services Perianesthesia, along with staff development and patient/family education initiatives.
- Enhance quality patient care by adhering to the policies and procedures of Cottage Health System and the specific department.
- Take on a leadership role, serving as a resource for colleagues regarding contemporary educational theories, professional growth, and evidence-based practices.
- Guide and support assigned personnel in their duties.
- Collaborate with administrative and departmental leaders to develop programs that address identified needs.
- Lead educational initiatives and foster a collaborative environment to achieve positive patient outcomes.
- Education: Minimum of a BSN; a Master's Degree is preferred.
- Experience: At least three years of clinical, teaching, or leadership experience in perianesthesia is required.
- Preferred experience includes three years in critical care and/or post-anesthesia care within a level one trauma center.
- Knowledge of supervisory practices and methods for staff development is essential.
- A background in Preoperative and Post-Anesthesia Care Units (PACU) is necessary.
- Critical care skills are required, including experience in ICU, SICU, NICU, or PICU.
Shift: 5x8, no weekends
