Position Summary:
The role of General Maintenance Specialist is vital for the effective operation and maintenance of our facilities. This position encompasses a variety of maintenance responsibilities, including minor construction, electrical repairs, plumbing fixes, and addressing issues as they arise. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of managing their time efficiently while responding to maintenance requests. Additionally, this role may involve assisting at other J.C. Lewis properties beyond dealership locations.
Work Schedule: Monday to Friday (occasional weekends may be necessary)
Compensation: Based on experience; negotiable for the right candidate.
PRIMARY DUTIES
- Perform routine maintenance tasks to ensure the facility remains functional and visually appealing.
- Execute minor construction activities, such as repairing structures or installing fixtures.
- Conduct electrical maintenance, including fixing lighting, outlets, and switches.
- Resolve plumbing challenges, such as leaks, clogs, or fixture repairs.
- Employ problem-solving skills to diagnose maintenance issues and apply effective solutions.
- Keep accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment inspections.
- Follow safety protocols and regulations while executing maintenance tasks.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and supervisors to prioritize and complete maintenance projects efficiently.
Qualifications:
To succeed in this role, candidates must demonstrate the ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The following qualifications are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required:
- Demonstrated experience in general maintenance, minor construction, electrical work, and plumbing.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Capacity to work independently as well as part of a team.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
Physical Requirements:

- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects, equipment, and materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Stamina to stand, walk, bend, and kneel for extended periods.

- Agility to access tight or confined spaces for maintenance tasks.
- Visual acuity for inspecting and diagnosing maintenance issues.
- Auditory perception to communicate effectively with team members and detect equipment malfunctions or safety hazards.
