Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Restaurant Operations Manager to join our team at Texas Tech University System. As a key member of our hospitality services team, you will be responsible for assisting a manager with the management of a sub-unit within a department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in planning, organizing, and developing goals and procedures for the sub-unit.
  • Represent the sub-unit to administrators, outside agencies, and others on relevant matters.
  • Supervise subordinate staff and ensure that they are meeting the required standards.
  • Monitor food preparation methods, portion sizes, freshness, and presentation of food to ensure that it meets the required standards.
  • Count money and process deposits, and ensure that cash handling procedures are followed.
  • Manage staff, prepare work schedules, and assign duties to ensure that the sub-unit is running efficiently.
  • Interview, hire, and train new employees, and develop existing staff to ensure that they have the necessary skills and knowledge.
  • Maintain food inventories and keep inventory records, and order and receive food and beverage deliveries.
  • Ensure that food safety preparation guidelines are followed, including temperatures, hold times, and cross-contamination procedures.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree with some supervisory experience, or a combination of education and/or supervisory experience to equal four years.
  • Knowledge and experience in food products and preparation of food.
  • Thorough knowledge of food safety preparation guidelines.
