Position Overview:

We are currently seeking a skilled Controls Technician for our Silver Springs, NY facility. The ideal candidate will undertake a range of responsibilities critical to our operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure a safe working environment by adhering to and promoting company policies and safety initiatives. Proactively identify and address unsafe behaviors and conditions.
  • Act as a technical advisor for the facility, collaborating with operators, engineers, managers, electricians, and external consultants to resolve maintenance issues and implement projects. This includes determining the necessary hardware and software solutions.
  • Oversee the maintenance, troubleshooting, and user training of facility PLCs, robotic controls, automated machinery, and automation systems.
  • Maintain, calibrate, and provide training on facility instrumentation, controllers, chart recorders, and alarm systems.
  • Assist in modifying existing programs to fulfill user requirements, including databases, spreadsheets, PLC software, and automation applications.
  • Deliver high-quality products and services to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Comply with all Safety, Environmental, and Quality Control protocols to ensure the reliable and efficient operation of facility equipment, while keeping up-to-date with all necessary training.
  • Manage capital and expense projects as needed.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree or equivalent coursework in mechanical, electrical, or instrumentation technology is preferred.
  • A minimum of three years of relevant industrial controls experience.
  • One to three years of experience in the theory and practical application of analog and digital instrument control.
  • Familiarity with the electrical and mechanical interactions of automated machinery components.
  • Experience with high-speed packaging, conveying, and palletizing equipment.
  • Proficient in instrumentation maintenance, calibration, and operation.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, self-motivated, hands-on approach, and the ability to build professional relationships.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to resolve conflicts effectively.
  • Trained in project management and time management techniques.

Physical Requirements:

  • Flexible working hours may be required, including weekends and overtime.
  • Availability to respond to urgent situations outside of regular hours as necessary.
  • Ability to work in seated or standing positions for extended periods.
  • Capable of performing moderate physical activities, including lifting up to 50 pounds, climbing, and working at heights.
  • Willingness to work in varying environmental conditions throughout the facility.
  • Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment and access all areas of the plant.
  • Full range of motion is necessary.
  • Work will be conducted in both office and manufacturing environments.

Compensation:

The salary range for this position is between $75,000 and $87,000, depending on experience.
