About the Role

Greensea IQ is seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team in Plymouth, MA. As a key member of our robotics-as-a-service team, you will be responsible for designing and developing innovative hardware solutions for our Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROVs), Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUVs), and diver mobility systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop electro-mechanical systems for marine robotics applications
  • Collaborate with electrical, software, and robotics engineers to integrate systems and ensure seamless operation
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation and design files
  • Support research and development programs in new technology for marine robotics
  • Work closely with the Chief Engineer-Robotics to define priorities and high-level requirements
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar discipline
  • 4-7 years' experience in mechanical design and electro-mechanical systems
  • Experience in a production environment
  • Solidworks/PDM proficiency
  • Excellent hands-on skills (assembly, machining, 3D printing)
  • Systems-integration experience (Electrical/Mechanical/Firmware/Software)
Preferred Qualifications
  • AUV/ROV/UAV systems experience
  • Marine materials T6/PEEK/Acetal/Stainless experience
  • Electronics packaging experience
  • Underwater cables and connectors experience
  • Marine product testing (pressure, corrosion, temperature) experience
  • Pressure vessel design experience
  • Ubuntu experience
  • Field deployments and support experience
