Dental Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Dental Assistant to join our team at the US Department of Health and Human Services. As a Dental Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting the dental team in delivering exceptional oral health services.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare patients for dental treatments and maintain a clean and safe environment.
- Assist dentists and hygienists with procedures, including preparing materials and equipment.
- Record and maintain accurate patient records, including appointments, examinations, and treatment plans.
- Perform chairside assistance, including placement of sealants and varnish.
- Assist with radiological procedures, including taking and developing x-rays.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; dental assistant program or dental hygiene program accredited by the American Dental Association's Commission on Accreditation preferred.
- At least 6 months of general experience in customer service, record-keeping, and clinic maintenance; or completion of a dental assistant program or dental hygiene program.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and provide excellent patient care.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
This position is located in a healthcare setting and requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions. The selected candidate must be able to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for long periods.
