Job Title: Flight Simulator Mechanic

Job Summary:

The Staffing Resource Group Inc is seeking a skilled Flight Simulator Mechanic to join our team. As a Flight Simulator Mechanic, you will be responsible for assembling, disassembling, and repairing flight simulator components, as well as ensuring the overall quality and functionality of the simulator.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assemble and disassemble flight simulator components, including control linkages, throttle alignment, consoles, and cabinets.
  • Measure and inspect parts to ensure specified tolerances and quality standards.
  • Drill, tap, ream, and countersink bolt holes in parts, and position and align parts for assembly.
  • Install flight simulator individual assemblies, including electric and hydraulic motion system actuators.
  • Assist in the preparation of assigned bays for trainer arrivals, including laying out and drilling motion pads, installing adapter plates, and assembling computer flooring.
  • Support trainer modification and upgrades, both in-house and at customer sites.
  • Support relocation of commercial or military training devices, both domestically and overseas.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or general education degree.
  • 3+ years of experience in aircraft structural repair or flight simulator assembly.
  • Eligibility for DoD Personal Security Clearance.
  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to figure percentages, area, circumference, and volume, and apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Knowledge of basic electrical and mechanical hand tools, and ability to effectively use them.
  • Sound understanding of military and commercial workmanship standards.
  • Ability to work from parts lists, assembly drawings, schematics, and engineering orders, engineering change orders, engineering logs, client workmanship standards, and client manufacturing procedures/work instructions.
  • Basic computer skills for time reporting and work order processing.

Preferred Skills:

  • Airframes portion of the FAA A&P license.
  • Ability to operate a forklift or scissor lift.
