Job Title: ASIC Design Verification Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled ASIC Design Verification Engineer to join our team at Waymo. As a key member of our Compute Team, you will play a critical role in delivering the compute platform responsible for running the fully autonomous vehicle's software stack.

About the Role

In this hybrid role, you will report to a Hardware Engineering Manager and work closely with the design team to define specifications and test plans for next-generation chips for our autonomous platform. You will execute on the test plan, including test development, reference model design, and failure debug. Additionally, you will contribute to the development of overall verification infrastructure and tools, identify and integrate third-party verification IP, collect and analyze coverage metrics, and advocate and establish verification best-practices.

Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the design team to define specifications and test plans for next-generation chips for our autonomous platform
  • Execute on the test plan, including test development, reference model design, and failure debug
  • Contribute to the development of overall verification infrastructure and tools
  • Identify and integrate third-party verification IP
  • Collect and analyze coverage metrics
  • Advocate and establish verification best-practices
Requirements
  • 3+ years of experience with using SystemVerilog and UVM to verify ASICs
  • Experience with digital architecture and logic
  • Advanced verification techniques like constrained random generation, functional coverage, and assertions
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with the full digital design verification cycle -- from spec through bring-up
  • Experience with performance and power validation
  • Experience with machine learning and other high performance compute elements
  • Experience with C++ and Python for reference model development, automation, and tool development
  • Experience with industry standard protocols, interfaces, and IP components, such as AXI, PCIe, DDR, Ethernet, and NoCs
  • Familiarity with emulation or virtual prototyping flows

The expected base salary range for this full-time position across US locations is listed below. Actual starting pay will be based on job-related factors, including exact work location, experience, relevant training and education, and skill level.

Salary Range $192,000—$243,000 USD
