Position Overview:
As a key analyst, you will be responsible for synchronizing, coordinating, and integrating cyber posture activities within the Department of the Navy (DON). Your expertise will be vital in enhancing cybersecurity, cyber resilience, and cyber operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as a policy and technical authority for DON cyber initiatives, developing processes for retrieving, compiling, and analyzing cyber data from diverse sources.
- Prepare and present briefing materials, providing clear and articulate input in decision-making forums without prior preparation.
- Offer guidance and policy recommendations on DON-wide reform efforts, analyzing data to support evaluations and improvement strategies for DON's cyber posture.
- Participate in audits of cyber programs and projects as necessary.
Strategic Involvement:
- Engage in the formulation and execution of Principal Cyber Advisor (PCA) strategic goals, mission, vision, and policies.
- Analyze and monitor the application of cyber policies and practices that affect DON's cyber risk posture, developing and publishing updated policies or guidance as needed.
Qualifications:
- Must be a U.S. Citizen and suitable for federal employment.
- Participation in the direct deposit pay program is required.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test is mandatory.
Experience Requirements:
- A minimum of one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level, demonstrating competencies in:
1. Attention to Detail
2. Customer Service
3. Oral Communication
4. Problem Solving
- Proven experience in retrieving, compiling, and analyzing cyber data, developing and implementing cyber-related policies, and participating in audits of cyber programs.
Additional Information:
This position may require travel to various locations and the ability to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods. The role is designated as a Cyber Workforce position, requiring maintenance of qualifications in accordance with DON Cyber Workforce Program standards.
