Job Summary:

The Lead Sales Associate plays a critical role in maintaining a clean, well-organized store with a customer-first focus. This position is responsible for assisting customers, operating a cash register, stocking and recovering merchandise, cleaning the store, and performing other duties as assigned by the Store Manager to maximize store profitability and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide exceptional customer service, greeting and assisting customers in a timely and friendly manner.
  • Operate a cash register, scanning items, handling customer transactions, and making change as needed.
  • Stock and recover merchandise, maintaining a visually appealing store environment.
  • Clean the store, including floors, restrooms, and stockrooms, to ensure a safe and healthy environment for customers and employees.
  • Assist in implementing and maintaining planograms, ensuring merchandise is displayed effectively.
  • Open and close the store under the direction of the Store Manager.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent and six months of supervisory experience (or related experience/training) preferred.
  • Effective interpersonal and oral communication skills.
  • Understanding of safety policies and practices.
  • Ability to read and follow planogram and merchandise presentation guides.
  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations and operate a cash register.

Working Conditions:

  • Frequent walking and standing.
  • Frequent bending, stooping, and kneeling to run check out stations, stock merchandise, and unload trucks.
  • Frequent handling of merchandise and equipment.
  • Frequent and proper lifting of up to 40 pounds; occasional lifting of up to 55 pounds.
