Position Title: Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)

Role Summary: The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant will be responsible for planning, organizing, and delivering Occupational Therapy Services within a skilled nursing environment, ensuring compliance with all relevant federal, state, and local regulations to maintain the highest quality of resident care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough assessments of residents to determine appropriate interventions tailored to individual needs.
  • Implement treatment plans developed by supervising therapists, focusing on both short-term and long-term objectives.
  • Effectively communicate evaluation results, treatment strategies, and recommendations to residents, their families, and the interdisciplinary team.
  • Collaborate with team members to create individualized therapy schedules for residents.
  • Deliver therapy in accordance with established plans while ensuring accurate documentation and billing for services rendered.
  • Fulfill additional responsibilities as assigned to enhance patient care.
  • Adhere to all CMS documentation standards, ensuring timely and accurate point-of-care records.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's Degree in Occupational Therapy.
  • Active Occupational Therapy Assistant licensure in the state of practice is required.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and continuing education to maintain licensure and certification.
