Position Overview:
As a Cardiovascular Surgical Assistant Intern, you will join one of the most renowned cardiac and thoracic surgery teams globally. Our Department of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery is committed to providing top-tier care to patients from across the nation and beyond.

Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with surgeons and senior residents during thoracic and cardiovascular surgical procedures.
- Assist in critical tasks such as coronary anastomosis, valve implantation, and aneurysm resections.
- Manage surgical scheduling for the department.
- Review and discuss preoperative patient data with staff surgeons.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
- Must be a graduate of an accredited nursing program with valid state licensure.
- Registered Nurses (RN) should possess Certification as a Nurse Operating Room (CNOR) and enroll in the Registered Nurse First Assist (RNFA) course after completing the initial probationary period.

Skills and Experience:
- A minimum of one year of experience in an operating room setting is required.
- Critical thinking, decisive judgment, and the ability to work independently in a high-pressure environment are essential.

Physical Requirements:
- Ability to perform manual tasks and operate office equipment.
- May involve extended periods of standing, walking, or sitting.
- Must possess good visual acuity, either naturally or corrected.

Personal Protective Equipment:
Adhere to standard precautions and utilize personal protective equipment as necessary.
