Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Healthcare Professional Development Intern to join our team at Novant Health. As a key member of our Bridges to Healthcare internship program, you will have the opportunity to work in multiple clinical and non-clinical departments, providing strategic support to our team and gaining valuable experience in the healthcare industry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide support to the Novant Health team and assigned preceptor through projects and active participation in meetings.
  • Participate in educational opportunities to clarify professional goals and expose yourself to various healthcare professions.
  • Develop strong critical thinking, time management, and presentation skills.
  • Communicate effectively with people of diverse backgrounds and all levels of authority.
  • Maintain confidentiality and flexibility in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements
  • Currently enrolled in high school and in grade 9-12.
  • Have a GPA of 2.5 or higher.
  • Two (2) letters of recommendation from a faculty member, coach, community leader, or employer.
  • Unofficial school transcript upon request.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and email.
  • Strong critical thinking, time management, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with people of diverse backgrounds and all levels of authority.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Flexibility to respond to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Intellectual depth, moral integrity, personal vision, creativity, leadership skills, fortitude, sincerity, and diplomacy.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team player who will productively engage with others at varying levels of seniority within and outside of Novant Health.
