About the Role

Bank Iowa is seeking a highly skilled Controller to join our team. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for overseeing the accounting operations of Bank Iowa Corporation, Bank Iowa, and related entities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure the accurate production of periodic financial reports, including the Call Report, FRY-9SP, and Summary of Deposits.
  • Maintain an adequate system of accounting records and a set of FDICIA controls designed to mitigate risk.
  • Supervise and develop accounting staff, providing guidance and support to ensure the successful execution of accounting functions.
  • Prepare and deliver financial reports to regulatory agencies, including the Federal Reserve and the FDIC.
  • Lead the preparation of information for internal and external auditors, including the preparation of fiscal year-end consolidated financial statements.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, CPA certification, and/or bank audit experience preferred.
  • 10+ years' experience in an accounting position, with experience in a financial institution highly preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
