POSITION SUMMARY

This role champions cloud technologies and provides the engineering support essential for advancing the organization's innovative technological landscape. The intermediate-level professional is responsible for adopting, enhancing, maintaining, and optimizing cloud utilization throughout the organization via engineering support of cloud solutions and automation processes. The individual will oversee the support and engineering of cloud systems and must remain informed about emerging cloud services to achieve the desired organizational outcomes.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design and implement cloud-centric technical frameworks, migration strategies, deployment of cloud assets, and application enhancements that leverage automation technologies, ensure redundancy, and fulfill business goals.
  • Establish cloud resource acquisition and performance metrics through monitoring and analysis of usage trends to enhance cloud expenditure and resource efficiency.
  • Suggest innovative ideas, designs, and solutions to senior engineers to promote cloud service adoption and optimization.
  • Create automation scripts and other repeatable processes to facilitate application and service teams in deploying software and services within cloud environments.
  • Conduct research and analysis necessary for new cloud deployment initiatives, modifications to existing cloud services, and other cloud adoption strategies to provide well-founded recommendations on the best course of action.
  • Manage Level 2 incidents, problems, and changes related to the cloud operations engineering team’s responsibilities.
  • Develop documentation to support operational processes, procedures, and implementations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned or requested.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Mandatory

  • Bachelor's Degree in Cloud Computing, Computer & Information Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Information Technology, or a closely related field.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Mandatory

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience with at least two modern programming languages (e.g., Java, JavaScript, BASH, PowerShell).
  • Experience providing operational support for at least one of the following cloud service providers: Google Cloud Platform, Azure, or Amazon Web Services.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

  • Experience in producing fault-tolerant, efficient, and maintainable code.
  • Experience in designing, building, and deploying scalable cloud-based architectures using automation tools such as Terraform or Ansible, and version control systems like GitLab.
  • Familiarity with standard IT security practices, including identity and access management, data protection, encryption, and certificate/key management.
  • Knowledge of containerization and orchestration technologies, such as Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE).

CERTIFICATIONS

Mandatory

  • Certification in GCP, AWS, Azure, or other Cloud Services.

PREFERRED CERTIFICATIONS

  • Certification in Terraform, Ansible, or similar automation tools.

SKILLS

  • Proven ability to achieve ambitious goals in a dynamic and innovative environment.
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
  • Strong scripting skills with a willingness to learn additional programming languages as required.
  • Experience with GitLab or other version control systems.
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes or other container orchestration technologies.
  • Proficiency in automation technologies such as Terraform, Ansible, or similar tools.
  • Understanding of infrastructure concepts, including operating systems, virtualization, and networking.

Compensation Range:

Minimum: $67,500.00

Maximum: $124,800.00

Compensation is determined by various factors, including qualifications, experience, and contributions, as well as market considerations.
