Hospital Care Specialist Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Hospital Care Specialist to join our team at Cleveland Clinic. As a Registered Nurse, you will provide direct patient care to patients with a variety of medical and/or surgical conditions, from adolescent to geriatric.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct patient care based on nursing assessment and established standards, department guidelines, and hospital policies and procedures.
  • Utilize the nursing process, including patient advocacy, maintenance of aseptic technique, medication administration, documentation of treatments and care, management of equipment, patient safety, and monitoring of vital signs.
  • Coordinate care with other disciplines related to patient education and care goals for discharge and optimal health.
  • Collaborate with members of the multidisciplinary team regarding each patient's care.
  • Prioritize and perform direct care to patients according to policy.
  • Explain and document procedures and interventions.
  • Identify and perform appropriately in emergent situations.
Requirements:
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Current state licensure as Registered Nurse (RN).
  • Proof of Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) must be presented upon hire.
  • Additional certifications may be required depending on the specific unit or department.
Work Environment:

The Hospital Care Specialist will work in a fast-paced hospital setting, requiring the ability to work at a fast pace and prioritize multiple assignments/projects and respond to numerous requests. The ideal candidate will be able to resolve conflicts among staff and work collaboratively with department directors, physicians, and other members of the healthcare team.
