Job Summary

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Supervisory Civil Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Civil Design Section, you will be responsible for supervising a team of engineers and technicians, leading multi-discipline project design teams, and developing and preparing preliminary and final designs, plans, and specifications for civil engineering projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage a team of engineers and technicians in the development of analysis, designs, plans, and specifications for civil engineering projects.
  • Develop and prepare preliminary and final designs, plans, and specifications for civil engineering projects, including navigation, flood risk management, and water control structures.
  • Check and review the work of lower-graded engineers, technicians, and others engaged in the analysis, design, and development of civil engineering projects.
  • Supervise or lead subordinates in a team setting, developing staffing plans, evaluating performance, mentoring, training, or managing scope, schedule, and budget.
Requirements
  • One year of specialized experience in leading multi-discipline project design teams or subordinates in the development of analysis, designs, plans, and specifications for large or a combination of smaller civil/civil site engineering projects.
  • Experience in independently developing and preparing preliminary and final designs, plans, and specifications for civil engineering projects, including navigation, flood risk management, and water control structures.
  • Experience in supervising or leading subordinates in a team setting, developing staffing plans, evaluating performance, mentoring, training, or managing scope, schedule, and budget.
Education

A bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited school of engineering with at least one program accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) is required. Alternatively, a combination of education and experience that furnished a thorough knowledge of the physical and mathematical sciences underlying engineering and a good understanding of the engineering sciences and techniques and their applications to one of the branches of engineering may be accepted.

If authorized, incumbent will sign a service agreement.
