Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and interpret client needs and project requirements.
- Identify essential project inputs to ensure efficient task execution.
- Estimate required man-hours for the design aspects of projects.
- Define the scope, schedule, budget, and phases of electrical design while addressing site-specific challenges.
- Research and apply relevant codes and standards to design work.
- Design electrical systems and components for industrial applications.
- Lead and assign tasks to electrical design team members, ensuring timely and budget-compliant project completion.
- Generate contract documents, including drawings and specifications, and review designs for compliance with safety and design standards.
- Conduct calculations and prepare layouts and arrangements.
- Develop project cost estimates and schedules.
- Visit construction sites to gather design information and troubleshoot potential issues.
- Perform quality control inspections and provide findings and recommendations.
- Offer technical support during all project phases.
- Collaborate with team members to identify and resolve design challenges.
- Review electrical designs with other disciplines for functionality and coordination.
- Evaluate design deliverables for constructability and compliance, and address contractor inquiries during construction.
- Draft commissioning procedures and assist in the startup of communication, security, instrumentation, and control systems.
Minimum Qualifications:
- At least 10 years of experience in electrical design for facility and infrastructure projects, including power, lighting, grounding, and fire alarm systems. Experience in communications, access controls, and security systems is a plus.
- A high school diploma is required; an Associate's degree in Applied Science/Electronics, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a related field is preferred.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work effectively as part of a team.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in design and detailing using REVIT and AutoCAD.
- Familiarity with lighting calculation software such as AGI, ElumTools, or Visual.
- Experience with power system analysis software like SKM Powertools or ETAP.
