Heavy Weapons Operator

The Army National Guard is seeking highly skilled and motivated individuals to fill the role of Heavy Weapons Operator - Cannon Crew Member. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering decisive blows to the enemy using howitzers and learning high-tech cannon artillery weapons systems, artillery tactics, and strategy.

Key Responsibilities
- Conduct wire and radio communications
- Identify target locations
- Set, load, and fire artillery
- Use computers to generate fire direction data
- Operate heavy and light wheeled trucks and tracked vehicles
- Transport and manage artillery ammunition
- Maintain operational readiness of vehicles and equipment

Requirements
- Military enlistment in the Army National Guard
- Must be at least a junior in high school, or have a high school diploma or a GED certificate
- Must be between the ages of 17 and 35
- Must be able to pass a physical exam and meet legal and moral standards

Estimated Salary
$200 - $250 per drill weekend, subject to change, plus potential bonuses. However, the potential earnings can be significantly higher when you factor in bonuses and other benefits. In addition to the regular paycheck, you will also receive paid training, which can lead to a higher salary in the long run. With the Montgomery GI Bill and Federal and State tuition assistance, you can further your education and increase your earning potential. The Army National Guard also offers low-cost life insurance, a 401(k)-type savings plan, and a Student Loan Repayment Program, which can help you achieve financial stability and security. Overall, the estimated salary for this position is around $40,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on the number of drill weekends you attend and your performance in the role.
