Job Title: Hydrovac Truck Driver-Operator

Job Summary: Lester Brothers Excavation is seeking an experienced Hydro Excavation Driver/Operator to complete hydro excavation work within the Michigan area. The ideal candidate will have a valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with a clean motor vehicle record and experience operating heavy equipment for hydro excavation to expose utilities.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Inspect and maintain all working equipment to ensure it is in good operating condition, mobilize equipment to the site, and safely operate the equipment.
  • Use the equipment to hydro excavate to expose utilities such as gas, water, electricity, sanitary, and telephone.
  • Complete all required administrative paperwork (e.g., timesheets, schedules, etc.) accurately and within the specified timelines.
  • Haul/tow equipment to and from job sites and maintain and keep all hydro excavation equipment in good operating condition by adjusting, cleaning, lubricating, and performing minor repairs.
  • Abide by all safety procedures and policies, including wearing the required PPE.
  • Perform other related work as needed.

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Willing to undergo a DOT physical and drug screening.
  • Ability to remain flexible as specific assignments change.
  • Have a valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with a clean motor vehicle record.
  • Have experience operating heavy equipment for hydro excavation to expose utilities.
  • Are mechanically inclined; in-field training will be provided.
  • Have strong attention to detail and ability to problem solve.
  • Are comfortable working outside in all weather conditions.
  • Are comfortable getting dirty and can perform the physical requirements of a hydro excavation operator.
  • Willing and able to work overtime, especially in peak season.

Education and Experience:

  • Prior hydro excavation experience preferred.
  • Heavy equipment operation experience required.
  • Class B CDL with tanker and air brake endorsements.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must have physical strength, balance, hand-eye coordination, and stamina necessary to complete jobs in various areas.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
  • Must be able to work in all weather conditions.
