Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Interventional Technologist I to join our team at WVU Medicine. As a key member of our Interventional Radiology department, you will be responsible for providing technical assistance in performing diagnostic and interventional procedures, utilizing sterile and aseptic technique.

Key Responsibilities
  • Acquire and process imaging data, ensuring high-quality images for diagnostic purposes.
  • Provide emergency services on call, responding to critical situations with professionalism and expertise.
  • Collaborate with physicians and other lab personnel to ensure seamless procedure execution.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation, adhering to regulatory standards.
  • Participate in on-call rotations, ensuring 24/7 availability for emergent procedures.
  • Contribute to educational and in-service opportunities, enhancing skills and knowledge.
  • Assist in Neuro, body, and peripheral IR procedures, applying expertise and judgment.
Requirements
  • Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) in Radiography.
  • Radiologist Technologist certification through the West Virginia Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Technology Board of Examiners or applicable state.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification within one year of hire (for Pennsylvania locations).
Working Environment

The work environment is clinical, with occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts, airborne particles, body fluids, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, and risk of radiation.

Maintain Radiation safety and adhere to established protocols.

Skills and Abilities
  • Effective communication with physicians and peers on a professional level.
  • Knowledgeable in sterile technique, imaging acquisition, and data transmission.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, operating manuals, and product information.
  • Ability to solve practical problems with limited standardization of variables.
