Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Histology Technician I to join our team at NYU Langone Health. As a key member of our surgical pathology laboratory, you will play a critical role in preparing tissue specimens for pathological examination.

Key Responsibilities
  • Embed and section tissue specimens for histological examination
  • Participate in quality control and quality assurance activities
  • File and distribute blocks and slides
  • Assist with supply inventory management and ordering
  • Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, including tissue processors and microtomes
  • Prepare frozen sections using a cryostat
Requirements
  • NYS DOH licensure as a Certified Clinical Laboratory Histotechnician, Histotechnologist, Technician, or Technologist
  • Associates degree from a relevant course of study or equivalent experience
  • 6-12 months of experience in a surgical pathology laboratory
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
  • 1 year of experience in a surgical pathology laboratory
  • Certification in histology
