As a Geriatric Trauma Nurse Specialist at UMC Health System, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional care to patients aged 60 and older who have sustained a trauma. Our team is dedicated to delivering compassionate and patient-centered care, and we are seeking a skilled and passionate nurse to join our team.

Our Geriatric Trauma/Surgical Care Unit (GTSCU) is a 29-bed Medical/Surgical unit that focuses on caring for geriatric trauma patients and those requiring palliative care. We strive to provide a peaceful and quiet environment for patients and their families, and our nursing staff are trained to care for patients at the end of life as well as those who will be discharged home or to other facilities.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical-surgical nursing and experience working with geriatric patients. A Bachelor's degree in Nursing is required, and BSN certification is preferred. Additionally, the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and provide excellent communication skills are essential for success in this role.

We offer a competitive salary of $85,000 - $105,000 per year, depending on experience. This salary range is based on national averages for nurses with similar experience and qualifications in the Texas region. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
