Nurse Practitioner

As a skilled Registered Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care at the University of Virginia. Your expertise will be utilized to expand knowledge and skills, consistently delivering effective direct care as part of an interdisciplinary team. You will manage care and implement treatment plans at a refined skill level in collaboration with patients, their families, physicians, and other members of the healthcare team. Your ability to seek and provide feedback for improved clinical practice will be essential in this role. You will also assume a beginning leadership role and seek mentoring in this process.
This position integrates the AAACN Scope and Standards of Practice for Professional Ambulatory Care Nursing, the ANA Nursing: Scope and Standards of Practice, and the ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses with Interpretive Statements, with the UVA Nursing Professional Practice Model. The ANA Scope and Standards of Practice definition of nursing is as follows: Nursing is the protection, promotion, and optimization of health and abilities, prevention of illness and injury, facilitation of healing, alleviation of suffering through the diagnosis and treatment of human response, and advocacy in the care of individuals, families, groups, communities, and populations.

- Innovation: is demonstrated by the application of technologies that support patient care, actively seeking to implement evidence-based practice and new knowledge generated by nursing research.
- In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.
- Must be able to work some Saturday morning shifts (8 or fewer times per year).
Position Compensation Range: $49.82 Hourly
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program required. Bachelor of Science in Nursing required within 5 years of hire.
Experience: 1 year of relevant experience.
Licensure: Licensed to Practice as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia. American Heart Association (AHA) Healthcare Provider BLS certification required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Job requires standing for prolonged periods, frequently traveling, bending/stooping. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull lbs. May be exposed to chemicals, blood/body fluids and infectious disease
