Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Culinary Specialist to join our team at the Mississippi Gulf Coast Convention Center.

This is a unique opportunity to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment, preparing high-quality food items according to standardized recipes and instructions.

Key Responsibilities

• Food Preparation: Prepare high-quality food items according to standardized recipes and instructions to meet production, delivery, and service schedules.
• Serving and Delivery: Serve meals or prepare for delivery by using correct portioning, meeting outlined standards, ensuring that food is at the correct temperature, and is attractive and tasty.
• Cleaning and Maintenance: Clean the kitchen after preparation and serving, maintaining high standards of cleanliness. Store or discard excess food in accordance with safe food-handling procedures.
• Equipment Operation: Operate and maintain kitchen equipment as instructed.

Requirements

• Education and Certification: High school diploma or equivalent required; culinary certification preferred.
• Experience: Previous experience in a commercial kitchen environment; ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Skills: Strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
