About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Refrigeration Service Technician to join our team at CoolSys. As a key member of our service team, you will be responsible for providing top-notch service and support to our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide service and repair to customers' refrigeration equipment, including compressors, water pumps, air handlers, and electrical and mechanical control devices.
  • Perform general repair work on refrigeration, heating, and ventilation equipment, including air conditioning units, evaporative condensers, ice machine equipment, water pumps, gas furnaces, compressors, and electric motors.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance activities for customers, diagnosing equipment malfunctions and operating deficiencies to ensure quality work performance.
  • Test malfunctioning systems and components using electrical and/or mechanical skills.
  • Maintain accurate and legible records of work history.
  • Process job tickets and work orders in a timely manner.
  • Provide support by picking up, delivering, and installing cases.
  • Perform work on minor construction and remodeling projects, including startups of new installations.
  • Drive company vehicle in a safe and responsible manner.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • EPA certification.
  • Certification from an accredited vocational-technical or trade school is a plus.
  • Minimum 3+ years of commercial refrigeration experience required.
  • Experience working on refrigeration equipment in convenience stores or supermarkets is a strong plus.
  • Familiarity with single systems and rack systems, as well as previous work on display cases and walk-in boxes, is very helpful.
  • Good driving record and ability to work independently are essential.
  • Emergency on-call availability is a basic requirement.
  • Ability to lift up to 60 lbs. with no assistance and sit/stand for several hours at a time.
