The preferred candidate will hold a valid Professional Surveyor license and will be appointed as the Survey Discipline Leader. This individual will collaborate closely with sector leaders in various domains to ensure that the organization maintains an optimal workforce equipped with the necessary expertise to execute projects on a global scale. The Survey Discipline Leader will be accountable for the recruitment, training, coaching, mentoring, and supervision of survey Team Leaders. Furthermore, they will establish team objectives and frameworks that align with corporate goals, pinpoint cost-saving measures, manage project budgets proficiently, and formulate discipline strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Recruit, train, coach, mentor, and oversee survey Team Leaders.
  • Formulate team objectives and frameworks that align with corporate vision and goals.
  • Identify opportunities for cost reduction and manage project budgets efficiently.
  • Develop market strategies, gaining practical experience in brand development and positioning.
  • Achieve annual market objectives in line with vision, strategy, structure, and staffing.
  • Delegate tasks and responsibilities to team members.
  • Provide guidance and support to team members throughout project lifecycles.
  • Oversee Survey, GIS, mobile lidar, and UAS Team Leaders across the nation.
  • Manage a diverse team of over 125 technical specialists, including land surveyors, GIS technicians, mobile lidar teams, and unmanned aerial systems teams.
  • Customize teams to address clients' specific requirements to ensure timely and budget-compliant project completion.
  • Ensure the quality of deliverables and implement standard operating procedures.
  • Engage in project management, including the development of project plans, budgeting, scheduling, implementing QA/QC measures, creating proposals, and maintaining client relationships.
  • Experience in geodetic leveling, topographic, hydrographic, cadastral/boundary, subsurface utility engineering, deformation monitoring, as well as terrestrial, mobile, UAS, and airborne Lidar.
  • Technology deployment, implementation, and deliverable development.
  • Oversee and manage equipment and fleet budgets.
  • Collaborate with leading geospatial hardware and software manufacturers to ensure the organization remains at the forefront of deploying the latest geospatial technology.
  • Safely and effectively coordinate projects in complex field environments.
  • Manage discipline-wide KPIs, including net revenue, utilization, and budget variance.

Qualifications:

  • Must possess a valid professional surveyor license.
  • Demonstrated experience in surveying and project management.
  • Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects concurrently.
  • Proficiency in relevant surveying technologies and software.
  • A BA/BS with eight (8) years of related experience, MA/MS with six (6) years of related experience, or 12 years of related experience.
  • Must be mentally and physically capable of performing all essential duties required of the position.
  • Demonstrated proactive management approach.
  • Above-average verbal and written communication skills for both internal and external interactions.
  • Proven leadership abilities (directing, delegating, and coaching).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Ability to manage multiple, competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Capability to analyze and evaluate various project components, schedules, and budgets.
  • Ability to establish and maintain rapport with clients, vendors, management, and associates.
  • Possess negotiation, conflict management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Above-average facilitation and/or meeting skills.
