General Overview: The Nurse Practitioner delivers specialized nursing care under the supervision of the attending physician. This role requires significant medical judgment to determine the appropriate procedures within the scope of practice.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Upholds and promotes the mission, vision, philosophy, objectives, policies, and procedures of Tenet Physician Resources.
  • Complies with the Tenet HIPAA Compliance Plan and the Privacy Standards Confidentiality Agreement.
  • Demonstrates commitment to the Tenet Corporate Compliance Program by understanding compliance responsibilities as outlined in the Code of Conduct; adhering to applicable federal and state laws, regulations, and corporate policies; and reporting compliance issues promptly.
  • Collects and documents comprehensive health histories; conducts thorough physical assessments addressing biological, social, and psychological needs as part of a complete examination.
  • Diagnoses, treats, and formulates appropriate healthcare plans for clients, referring them to physicians or external agencies as necessary.
  • Ensures all required documentation of patient care activities is completed in accordance with TPR policy.
  • Performs all duties assigned by the supervising physician.
  • Reports any injuries or adverse reactions during or post-treatment to the attending physician.
  • Engages in patient review conferences and staffing meetings.
  • Assists the physician in various capacities, including Utilization Review, Quality Assurance, Program Evaluation, Infection Control, and Safety Committee activities.
  • Follows established policies and procedures of Tenet Physician Resources; orders and interprets laboratory test results as part of health management.
  • Conducts and supervises testing and other relevant procedures.
  • Provides health education and counseling during physical examinations, empowering clients to make informed health and treatment decisions.
  • Offers consultative guidance as needed for nursing, laboratory, and clinic assistant personnel.
  • Prescribes medications as appropriate.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited nursing program; Master's degree in nursing; completion of a state-approved Nurse Practitioner's program.

Certification: Advanced Nurse Practitioner license valid in the state; CPR certification; DEA registration with the state.

Experience: A minimum of two years of clinical experience as a Nurse Practitioner is required.
