About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Dietary Aide to join our team at San Juan Care Center. As a Dietary Aide, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care to our residents by ensuring the preparation and service of nutritious meals.
Responsibilities
- Assist with food ordering, storage, and preparation as designated by the supervisor.
- Assist cooks as directed by the supervisor.
- Prepare and label nourishments according to center procedures.
- Prepare and portion desserts, salads, and other non-entrée foods into dishes; pour beverages.
- Follow production sheets and pre-preparation sheets or guidelines when appropriate.
- Complete pre-preparation as needed or assigned, including washing, peeling, and cutting vegetables and fruits to prepare for use; slice meat and measure or weigh for menu compliance and nutrition accuracy.
- Follow the cleaning schedule; clean the equipment and work area after each use; sweep and mop kitchen floors as assigned; take trash to dumpster as assigned; wash pots and pans as assigned.
- Assume responsibility for meeting meal schedules.
- Wash dishes and silverware according to dishwashing procedure; put clean dishes and silverware away; assist with cleaning of equipment, dishes, silverware, and kitchen as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- One year's work in a large-scale cooking operation, preferred.
