Position Overview:
Your next opportunity is here The 4 East unit specializes in the care of patients with acute cardiology conditions, including chest pain, unstable angina, and heart failure. Our nursing staff provides essential pre and post-procedural care for patients undergoing various cardiac interventions, including catheterizations and electrophysiology procedures. This unit is recognized for its excellence in managing patients with complex cardiac needs, including those with Left Ventricular Assist Devices and Total Artificial Hearts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist patients with personal care to ensure optimal recovery during their hospital stay.
- Perform basic nursing tasks as directed by a Registered Nurse, adhering to established policies and procedures to enhance patient health and wellness.
- Ensure a safe environment and the secure delivery of care.
- Conduct administrative support duties as required.
- Maintain necessary skills and competencies to perform job functions effectively.
- Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Education: High School Graduate or Equivalent.
- Experience: No prior experience necessary; relevant experience is preferred.
- Licensure: Certified Nursing Aide certification (CNA) through the Virginia Board of Nursing. Current American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification is required.
Physical Requirements:
This position requires frequent bending and lifting, with the ability to lift/push/pull over 100 lbs. Candidates must possess strong communication skills and attention to detail. Exposure to chemicals, blood/body fluids, and infectious diseases may occur.
