Job Summary

Kapili Services, LLC is seeking a highly skilled Data Information Architect to support our government customer located mainly in San Antonio, Texas, or Falls Church, Virginia or can be worked Remote.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in data modeling, data warehousing, and data governance, with experience in developing and implementing data solutions that enable smooth data delivery and analysis.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of data access, transformation, and mobility needs, and be able to translate these into functional requirements and mapping designs.

Responsibilities will include building data warehouses for internal departments, creating and improving data solutions, leading logical data model design and implementation, and designing, automating, and supporting sophisticated data extraction, transformation, and loading applications.

The successful candidate will also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to deliver products on time, on schedule, within budget, and in a rapidly changing environment.

Additional responsibilities will include demonstrated ability to communicate analytical discoveries and recommendations effectively to all levels of customers, including Senior DHA leadership.

Proven ability to synthesize disparate data from multiple sources and coalesce into an accurate and useful analytic product, incorporating Service and MHS strategic goals for use by leadership in both tactical and strategic decision making.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in information systems, Computer Science, Biostatistics, Informatics, Mathematics or similar/related field.
  • Prior experience developing databases and understanding of data modeling concepts.
  • Knowledge and experience with the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Strong background developing Extract Transform Load (ETL) processes.
  • Strong SQL development skills, experience with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), and Python coding required.
  • Knowledge of different SQL/NoSQL data storage techniques and Big Data technologies.
  • Three (3) years experience with Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS).
  • Three (3) years experience of ETL development experience Knowledge of ETL ideas, tools, and data structures.
  • Three (3) years experience in development of product support documentation.
  • Three (3) years experience in workflow development and documentation of workflow processes.
  • Two (2) years experience developing, testing, and maintaining ETL processes.
  • Security Plus certification.
  • Able to read, write, speak and understand English.
Desired Skills and Experience
  • Minimum of 3 years experience data mining and conducting detailed analysis within the Military Health System (MHS) Data Warehouses and software, i.e., M2, Business Objects, CHCS Cache, SQL, MDR, SAS, HL7, ETL and HealtheAnalytics.
  • One plus year in experience with Transact-SQL or ANSI SQL.
  • SAS programming experience is an acceptable alternative.
  • Familiarity with Application Programming Interface (API) data pipeline integration with the R or Python languages.
  • Preferred familiarity with Jenkins and/or other CI tools experience for monitoring and establishment of data pipelines and task automation.
