POSITION TITLE:
Housekeeper

POSITION SUMMARY:

The primary responsibility of the housekeeping role is to execute scheduled cleaning tasks as assigned by the housekeeping supervisor.

Responsibilities may include mopping, sweeping, dusting, washing windows, shampooing carpets, arranging furniture, and generally maintaining cleanliness of furniture, equipment, fixtures, and hardware.


QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Must possess the ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English with residents, families, guests, and other staff members.
  • Ability to safely handle cleaning chemicals and be exposed to chemical fumes, dust, and pet dander.
  • Frequent physical activity is required, including standing, walking, reaching, sitting, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

The following tasks are essential to the role:

  • Clean and sanitize living spaces and their contents, including vacuuming, dusting, cleaning kitchen and bathroom fixtures, turning mattresses, moving light furniture, and emptying trash.
  • Perform cleaning duties for resident apartments, offices, bathrooms, and other communal areas.
  • Assist in cleaning and refurbishing vacated residences.
  • Wash, dry, fold, and store linens and laundry for the community and residents.
  • Coordinate the delivery and return of resident laundry.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of housekeeping carts.
  • Ensure carts are stocked with appropriate cleaning supplies in OSHA-approved containers.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Candidates must be able to safely perform movements such as pushing, pulling, lifting, bending, kneeling, reaching, and lifting up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodations.
