Adjunct DSP&S Counselor

Job Summary:

The Yuba Community College District is seeking a qualified DSP&S Counselor to assist with the implementation of services for students with disabilities. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of the assigned Dean to provide support and accommodations for students to participate fully in their postsecondary education.

Key Responsibilities:

• Demonstrate sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
• Provide workshops, teach specialized classes, and maintain student files.
• Assist with the implementation of services for students with disabilities.

Requirements:

• Master's degree in rehabilitation counseling, special education, or a related field.
• 24 or more semester units in upper division or graduate level course work in counseling, guidance, student personnel, psychology, or social work.
• Two years of full-time experience in counseling or guidance for students with disabilities.
