Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Certified Medical Assistant to join our team. As a Medical Support Professional, you will assist professional nursing personnel in providing patient care in assigned areas. Your responsibilities will include assisting patients with activities of daily living, providing personal care, emotional support, and performing more complex clinical skills under the direction of professional nursing personnel.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist patients with activities of daily living, including the use of bed pans, urinals, or commodes, ambulating patients, and providing pre-operative and post-operative care.
- Takes and records vital signs, including temperature, pulse, respiration, weight, height, blood pressure, and intake and output measurements.
- Prepare patient rooms and beds for admission and transfers, ensuring all necessary equipment is in the room.
- Maintain a clean and comfortable environment for patients, with special consideration to cleanliness, ventilation, and lighting.
- Assist with patient admission, transfer, and discharge procedures.
- Handle and care for patient belongings and other personal property.
- Respond to patient call lights, telephones, and paging systems as needed.
- Perform routine treatment procedures, such as enemas and application of appliances for heat and cold, under the direction of the Registered Nurse.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. You will also need to be able to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
